PCOS and waiting for my period to come

Hello,
I have just joined the collective, and am beyond happy to be here.
I was on birth control for 10 years and when coming off it in Jan 2021 was diagnosed with PCOS. Since I have had about 3 periods in a year and a half and suffer from extremely long periods of PMS before them. I got my period last cycle but endured a month of PMSing before it came. After 30 days of no period I start feeling bloated, cravings, mood swings, and bad digestion. When my period comes all of these symptoms go away and feel like a new person. I am now at day 35 – my doctor told me to take Duphaston (progesterone) for 10 days to induce my period. I try and stay away from hormones so I am not sure. One one hand I am worried that the syptoms I am feeling could be PMS and would like to give my period a chance of coming “naturally” – however I don’t want to go throught what I went through last month. I am currently in a period of intense work, and don’t want not getting my period to make it all harder.
I would love some advice on how to proceed.
Thank you so much for your time,
xxxxx

We are happy you are here as well!
I want to make sure that you understand that we do not give out medical advice. The decision of using medication or not is between you and your health care provider.
What we are able to do is help you with your thoughts around your experience. Notice how your thoughts right now are that you either experience a cycle like last time, which has you worried, or you take medications, which you have reservations about.
When your brain has you looking at these two options, it is closed to finding any other possibility of what could happen or be done. What other options may be possible?
