Hi there AAC,
I just managed to catch up on the brilliant vision call and wanted to get some coaching on my goal! So – I have been trying to change my relationship with time for a long time, and I really think I’ve come a long way in dialling down the urgency, taking my time, rushing less, being less time positive and hard on myself, etc. The year had started off great but I just had a huge bust up with my writing partner and close friend which has really rattled me, in which she accused me of having an ‘insane relationship with deadlines’ (my thoughts around this bust up perhaps for another AAC…). I think she has her own stuff going on here, but it does make me think I need to do more to take the pressure off and change my relationship with time.
My power word of the year is FLOW. Around this – ease, flexibility, power, peace, moving lightly like water but capable of a torrent, going with intuition, etc. The goal for Q1 I think is…
Change my relationship with time to one of care, ease and flow
Rock 1: Build myself an evening routine I love as much as my morning routine and do it each evening (I have a morning routine I love and do every day). Something like – night time tea, short stretch for 10 mins, write up 3 celebrations for the day, read my book
Rock 2: Bring urgency and time pressure moments to AAC for coaching once a week
Rock 3: Double the time I allow for every task
This last one I think sounds great on paper but is really hard to do in practice when there are financial pressures on things! Any advice on these rocks, and also – how I will know when this goal is complete?? I love an internal goal but always struggle with the completion metric.
Thanks AAC!
Answer:
What do you think will happen if you double the time you allow for every task. Do a thought download. Notice what your brain is afraid of. Notice what obstacles it is putting in the way of accomplishing this task. This is actually the goal of setting goals, to bring up allll our stuff. You’re already winning at that, yay! What I notice might be making your brain put on the brakes is that word “every”. What do you think?
Your rocks look great. What if you give yourself a certain amount of time to practice them, and then check in. For example, do these rocks as written for 3 months, then assess. You can always adjust. Trust the inner wisdom that has gotten you here. Keep listening. Bring on those questions that come up!
