2025 work goal

Hi coaches, I’d like some help nailing a work-related goal for 2025. The idea so far is a goal of ‘have fun learning to manage a team’, with rocks of (1) continue to actively participate in leadership course and apply learnings, (2) share with my team that I’m going to be trying things out as I learn, (3) get coached on what went well and didn’t.
The result I’d like to create is that I enjoy figuring it out and experimenting with different approaches – I don’t get hung up on them being perfect, and I’m not over-responsible for them. I want to feel lighthearted and have fun with my job this year, rather than perfectionist, nervous and overwhelmed.
I’d love your feedback and questions to help explore/refine this goal.

Answer:

You may have to adjust your definition of FUN.  What is it now? How could you embrace the whole experience of working towards your goal including the uncomfortable parts?
I would offer (and you see what resonates for you, or what reactions come up) that you drop the “learning to” part.
You are managing a team, yes? That is a fact.
Try on some identity goals like: I’m becoming a manager who…
I’m becoming a leader who…
See what you find. Love this goal, fun is so fun!
