30 day goal to sort out my sleep!

Greetings!
I started the 30 day goal late this month so am still in my first week. My goal was to work towards better sleep. I’ve implemented a few things in the past from specialists which have helped, but the part I am now struggling with is getting to bed and getting up at (roughly) the same time every day. I’ve unfortunately been out of work for over 6 months now and now have a job starting in just over a month, which was perfect timing for this 30 day goal.
I know what I need to do but I struggle a lot with protecting my ‘going to bed’ time, therefore meaning I really struggle to be up on time in the morning, leading to me constantly feeling groggy and tired. I find it hard to say no to that next episode of a good TV show, lose that extra half an hour with my partner in the evening or leave early if I’m having a good night out with friends. If I’m enjoying myself, particularly with others, I value that time, but I can’t seem to value my sleep more than that. Or decide when it’s worth risking feeling a bit rubbish the next day. I also naturally feel more awake in the evenings which make it even harder to tear myself away from something to go to bed.
I do have that usual broken record in my head telling me that I’ve never been able to do it before so why would I be able to do it now and I am doomed to just feel tired forever, so I may as well get used to it.
Any help much appreciated!

Answer:

Great goal and great timing. The Universe is so helpful. The thing about goals is they bring up all our stuff. As you look at what you’ve written, pull out all the thoughts that are blocking you from reaching your goal.  This is exactly what’s supposed to be coming up at one week in! How is this the perfect information for you?
Instead of trying to be perfect at it, what if you tried to be 1% better at going to bed this month? What would that look like? How would it change your experience?
