I want to access “coaching hard”. I have this in me. And I also see myself holding them tenderly — giving space (??too much) to their stories. I don’t know if I want to change this. I am curious about how both can be there. Is that greedy/trying to over-achieve?
By “coaching hard” i mean: willingness to be bold. Not trying to make them feel good but supportively bringing them to the discomfort they are avoiding. Trust in myself that is so strong that I am ok with however they respond to my coaching.
Answer:
What do you think? Are you being greedy or trying to overachieve? Why do you want to coach people “hard?” What are your beliefs around it? What are your reasons? Do you like them?
Keep exploring this track of having both. Is it possible to be tender and bold? What could that look like for you?
I’m wondering, is there a specific client that you are mostly wanting to be more bold with? Is there a specific client you are more worried will react badly if you bring them to the discomfort they are avoiding?
