Become healthier – part 2

T – I will do one thing towards being healthier every day
F – Motivated

A – Every morning think of one thing towards being healthier that I can do that day and do it (maybe walk, stretch, do an online exercise class, buy a hula hoop, eat good food, meditate)
R – Slowly build up a habit of doing healthy things
I think that this should work for me. I am sure that I can do something every day (I am retired). Often I already have something planned that is healthy (like I walk with a friend once a week). I have difficulty with the Sensation part of the model, I do not feel things in my body very well. I am trying to develop that awareness and also awareness of emotions and how they feel. I hope that thinking of healthy practices will keep me on this path.

So fun to explore what motivated feels like in your body. Some good questions to ask are: What temperature is it? Where in the body is it? Does it move? How? Does it have a color or a shape. You don’t have to spend a lot of time, just start paying attention a little bit more.
Your model looks great! I love that it gives space for you to become the person you wan to be. Who is that? It can be really helpful to think about who you want to be rather than what actions you will take. That way if there’s a day or two that you don’t do something healthy, you still will be able to keep going because you know who you are.
I would also offer that you think of some models for those days where motivation isn’t there. What emotions would keep you going when you can’t create motivation?
