My work Christmas party is booked for either the evening when I start my period, or day 3 which can be a challenging day for me.
I am really looking forward to it and want to go but am a bit worried about not being as present as I want to be or not enjoying it due to bleeding. I sometimes get quite bloated and uncomfortable while bleeding and generally want to be home with a hot water bottle not out eating, drinking and watching a cabaret show.
BUT I do want to go. Not going isn’t an option I’m willing to take, as it sounds grest fun. I know it would help to find ways to make the evening easier but I always try to stay in when bleeding so it’s a new challenge for me.
What can you suggest?
Answer:
If you’d like practical suggestions of what to do, please bring this question to the Facebook community. As you prepare I would offer that you put your result in a model and then figure out what you need to do, feel and think to create what you want. You have every option in front of you. Although you know your body and you have great awareness around what this day of your cycle has felt like, you may want to be open to it being different this month or during this event. Something like “plan for the worst, hope for the best” mentality may be useful in this case. When you feel physically prepared, what would you allow yourself to believe about you enjoying this party?
C: Christmas party cabaret is on December x and predicted cycle day 1-3
T: What would you want to think to create this feeling?
F: How would you want to feel to take these actions?
A: What would you need to do? What would you not do?
R: I make the party fun and easy for myself. (start here)
You may want to brain dump, brain storm and have multiple models. That is all good. Also, leave the door open to heading home any time you want. You get to create the experience you want. Please bring back any questions and models you come up with.
