Hi,
I have recently become aware that I might have ADHD, through several conversations with people, and reading about it.
And one of the big ways it comes up for me is around struggling with organisation and to create systems that work for me, and also task paralysis, where I have so many things on my list but go into panic mode because I don’t know what to start with and my brain is popping off in all directions! It becomes so overwhelming and I get stuck here, especially now being self-employed as a freelancer in the past year, without external structures.
Do you have any advice on acting is this moment to take myself outside of the panic? I would like to have a task overwhelm protocol that can take me out of it! Like, some steps I take and some thoughts. EG:
– Pick one thing and start it, it doesn’t matter
– Set a short timer
– Something compassionate to say to myself?
Any tips much appreciated!

You’ve got a great start here. Love the idea to have an overwhelm protocol. I would offer that if you notice your brain works this way, whether you have an ADHD diagnosis or not, try working with it instead of against it. Similar to how cycle awareness helps us plan with our seasons, you can work with the superpowers that your brain has happening.
What if you’re only struggling because you believe organization and systems should look a certain way? Who says?
