I can get lost in the present, and not consider the things that must be done to preserve the future.
E.g. Not resting when rest is my medicine and avoids relapse/worsten of condition.
Present-moment decisions that seem problem-less in the present, but that actually can adversely affect my future to the point that that future me, in their present, is saying “gosh what the heck did past Me do THAT for, when they were in their present!? Look how crap my present is as a result.”
I also said this previously – “How can I remain present while still taking these future risks seriously, and making present-time decisions that respect that? “
Ok over to you, coach, thank you

This is great. So, let’s actually look at your future self. You know some of the things that your future self will say, “What the heck was I thinking!?” about your present self. If your future self, the version that is rested and cared for as a result of your actions today, could write your present self a letter thanking you for doing the things you’ve done to get them to that rested place, what would they be thanking you for in that letter? What would they caution you about? What advice would they give you in regard overcoming obstacles?
Does your future self have an answer to how you can remain present while taking future risks seriously? You have the answers inside of you already. Trust your gut. Notice where there’s resistance. Bring back what you discover.
