Goals

Hello
I have decided on my goals and rocks which is;
G; Not doing things with urgency and trusting myself
Rocks;
1) Gather information but don’t take action (yet)
2) Daily to do lists, what’s priority and what’s on ‘maintenance mode’
3) Thought work (Watch self love video and Somatic session), work on sitting with emotions, noticing & naming nervous system responses
I though I’d share my unintentional and intentional model around this goal (inspired by the season review coaching call). My unintentional model is more about my career than my goal, I wanted to set a career focussed goal for autumn initially but then realised I was choosing it from a place of not enough-ness / low self worth and also panicking someone local will do it first. So decided I need to focus on that before moving on.
Unintentional
C: Career / Goal
T: I need to get on with it (my career / business goals) before someone else does it first
F: Urgency
A: Rush around, try to do everything at once
R: I don’t get anything done
Intentional
C: Career / Goal
T: I don’t have to do everything now
F: Calm
A: Give myself permission to not do everything
R: I don’t rush / do everything
I guess I’d like some help with some ladder thoughts between the 2 models?

Answer:

Your intentional model might not be resonating because you’ve gone from wanting to do something in your career to telling yourself to do nothing. You still want to start taking action, you just want it to come from a different emotion. When you think about your business goals, and it’s a really good day where you’re ready to go and you know you are totally going to acheive your goals and it feels amazing…what is that emotion?
What are you thinking about yourself when you’re feeling that way? That’s where you’re going to get the connection to your goal back. Because it’s not about the goal, it’s about your belief in your ability to acheive it.  People make goals to run a marathon or make a million dollars or plant a beautiful garden…the thing that is the same is the belief.
C: career/goal
T: What do you want to think about your ability to acheive the goal?
F: how does this thought make you feel?
A: what action will you take from that place? What will you not do? Be specific and brainstorm steps you want to tak enext.
R: what is the result you want? Be specific and give yourself a date or other way you’ll know you’ve completed it.
Notice how none of this has anything to do with what other people are doing. It’s all you, friend.  See what comes up as you explore this and bring back any questions or models.
