Going Through Life As If There’s A Rush

I’ve just watched back last night’s call and had a strong physical reaction to Maisie saying something like ‘we might have a goal to not go through life as if there’s a rush’, so want to explore that. I’ve come up with a couple of unintentional models and would love some coaching on this.
C: Maisie said ‘we might have a goal to not go through life as if there’s a rush’
T: I do that
F: Seen
A: Work out this model; post in the community; take it to AAC
R: ?
C: As above
T: If I set that as a goal it would take me longer to get to the other things I want to do (yes I am laughing here at this! 😂)
F: Panic? (the rushy / hustley feeling I get – maybe nervous system activation involved)
A: Ignore my instinct; focus on actions rather than results; set external goals; rush about
R: It takes me longer to get to where I really want to go?

Answer:

What a lovely moment to explore with curiosity and compassion. In your first model you have T: I do that
Take some time and really do a thought download on how this is showing up in your life. Describe where the rush is happening and what you are making it mean about you. Describe how it affects you in the smallest and biggest ways.  Describe how you feel.
All of this with no judgement. There is nothing to fix here. You never have to set a goal you don’t resonate with.
In your second model you are right on, the result would be that you prove your thought true. You create exactly what you are afraid of. Instead of panic, what energy do you want to have around your goals? Start there and see what you come up with. Bring any questions or models back for more coaching.
