Healing my nervous system

I have just caught up with the Autumn workshop which I wasn’t able to attend live, and have set my goal as being to start healing my nervous system, but I’m stuck on my rocks as I think I need help in finding the right resources for me to help myself.
Since viewing the Creating Safety webinar a while ago, I have become much more aware of when I go into sympathetic and dorsal states, my triggers and glimmers, and have been acknowledging and empathising with myself. However I’d like to go further as I have always suffered with a highly disregulated or rigid nervous system so can be very quick to shift from ventral into fight/flight, and at times it feels as though this dominates my life – work, relationships with my family and myself, my creativity and immunity. I spend a significant amount of time in these states (either f&f or collapse) and am exhausted by feeling snappy, irritable, vacant, with a racing heart every time the phone rings or I check my emails.
I started a free online course I found on social media, called Heal Your Nervous System a while ago but didn’t manage to complete it in time (before it was no longer free and a subscription was offered) and I’m not really sure where to find resources which align with the principles of the Flow Collective. I would ideally not spend a lot of money doing so (so a book would be ideal!). I find the models and webinars in TFC so profoundly helpful and would like to take this further to really try to heal what I believe is a deep and ingrained response in my nervous system.
Thank you.

We are so glad that you have come here and brought this question to us. Since you’ve watched the Creating Safety webinar, a great place to go next is the Somatics with Victoria Albina webinar in the Bonuses tab. Beyond that, Maisie has learned a great deal of what she knows from a woman named Deb Dana who has a library of work on the Polyvagal Theory to choose from.
Before you dive down the rabbit hole outside of TFC, I’d like to ask you why do you think you need to do more than you are already doing to heal? Is it possible that you have everything you need to start working on this right now even if your brain is saying, “I need more resources before I can choose my rocks.”? Why or why not? Sometimes our need for more is actually a symptom (and a cause) of dysregulation, and while knowledge is power, sometimes we need to dig into why we are pursuing it. We are here for you and look forward to what you discover. Come back to us with a follow up post titled, “Nervous system healing pt. 2”
