Help with a model

Hi, after listening to Maisie’s model course today and after working through several models (still early days for me) I find myself at a cross road for a decision I need to make and would love some feedback on a model. It’s about a new project/contract (I’m a contractor). To give you some background: my current contract runs out mid August and there’s as always a mixture of excitement about the unknown and panic about not having a project (income etc).
I’ve got a very strong (gut) feeling about the project and Maisie talks so much about how thoughts create feelings and I feel like I’m trying to talk myself into something and not listen to my feelings:
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: I don’t want to have to go into an office
F: heck no way
A: Decision paralysis
R: confused, delaying response to recruiter, recruiter getting pushy, me getting angry at myself not being able to make a decision
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: I’ll lose my number one value: freedom
F: constricted
A: Decision paralysis
R: confused, delaying response to recruiter, recruiter getting pushy, me getting angry at myself not being able to make a decision
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: I’ll be stuck in Chicago for 6 months
F: unsure
A: Say no to the project
R: No project confirmed for mid August, possibly no income
I try to think a different thought to create a different feeling but I really struggle with it.
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: It’s only 6 months
F: unsure
A: says yes to the job
R: still confused, delaying response to recruiter, recruiter getting pushy, me getting angry at myself not being able to make a decision
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: It’s only 6 months
F: unsure
A: says yes to the job
R: still confused, worry it’s the wrong decision, taking a job I won’t like
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: I may meet some lovely people
F: Unsure
A: says yes to the job
R: expand my network, community, make possible friends
C: New project which requires working onsite for 2 days
T: I don’t need to worry about tapping into my savings
F: Still unsure
A: says yes to the job
R: have an income to support my hobbies, life
I think what doesn’t sit well with me is that the feeling just doesn’t change much, even if I try and work through an intentional model and change my thoughts and the results. So I think I’m just worried about making the wrong decision, not listening to my gut or not seeing the positive sides (thoughts of it).
Can you help me get clearer on my models? I’m going inwards because I know that’s where the answer lies.

Answer:

Great job for early day models! There are some changes that may help you see the model better. For the unintentional models, what is in your R line are actions. Move those to your A line, and see what you are creating by doing those things. Here are some suggestions for those models:
* I am not doing what I want
* I lose myself
* I am stuck
Why do you think you have to change how you think about this option?
It sounds like you don’t want a job that goes into the office, and you don’t want to be in Chicago. If the only reason that you are choosing the job is out of fear to not have income, then what income will you be losing if you take the job? Another way to look at it is what are all your options?
