Overwhelm CTFAR Model – Part 3

Heyy again!
How can you move 1% closer to where you want to be? – Agh. 1% is NOT GOOD ENOUGH! is what came to my mind first. WHY JUST 1%!? was the second. i think it should be 100% but i know thats unrealistic so at least 30%. hahaha
So… 1%… I would hone in on this part “not to book in activities that overlap those calendar blocks or only if they can be readjusted but not deleted” because it is one I am routinely disrespecting. OK before committing to something, i should say ‘i’ll have a look and get back to you!’ and take a good few hours to calm from the excitement of that new task/ social / whatever it was, and make a decision more level-headed after consulting my calendar with all its blocks. And the ‘you’ being even me when i find something i want to do.
What emotion would you need to have to start taking action? – calm
Make this so easy your brain can’t object. See what you come up with. – I didn’t. I don’t know how to make it that easy??? Just like i don’t know how to do the 1%. How do you do that?

Answer:

You can absolutely take that quantum leap if it’s available for you! But for now, I love the “I’ll have a look and get back to you!” This goes in your A line…what else goes in there?
When it comes to calm, I always get skeptical. Usually when someone tells me to take an action they need to feel calm, I wonder whether they’ll be let down because they can’t access that emotional state when they want to. So assuming that you’re feeling excitement, AND you want to say “I’ll have a look…” what else would make it possible for you to say this? Trust? Respect? Dedicated? What do you think?
1% might look and be different for everyone. The 1% idea is that you are making shifts, but not having to do everything perfectly differently to see impactful results. I think about it like vectors in angles (which go on forever) – even though 1º isn’t much of a noticeable difference at the vertex, the further the vectors go out from their point of origin, the further apart they are from one another. I wonder if just calling attention to your habit is the 1% shift that moves you down an entirely different path. I have a feeling you’re 1% different just by being here asking this question.
