I’ve noticed recently that I put a lot of pressure on myself across lots of different aspects of life….
Here was a list of how I currently put pressure on myself:
– lose weight
– get fit
– fix gut issues
– be more mindful
– meditate more
– self coach
– grow my business
– make more money
– get better at climbing again
– make new friends
– decide on new career path
It all just feels like a lot ….
I know the self love workshop might be something to return to, and maybe I can counter each one of these with thought work but I’m wondering whether there’s a catch all phrase to acknowledge and let go of the pressure?
‘hello zoe that wants to be better, nice to see you again’
Any other ideas?
Answer:
I would offer that you look at your story and what it’s creating for you. “I put a lot of pressure on myself across lots of different aspects of life.” is a thought. You have loads of evidence for this thought and you’ve likely practiced it for a long time. What benefits have you gotten from thinking this way? Often we think we need a new thought or something to magically fix all the pressure, but you’re right on with recognizing that releasing might be the answer for you. Who would you be if you no longer kept this thought? Dropping a thought can be very powerful and easier than you think once you see what it’s doing to you. Of course it will try to sneak back in but you just acknowledge it, thank it, and send it on its way. The best way to release pressure is to open up. How can you soften, loosen, relax and ease into becoming who you want to be?
