Spring Goal – Believing in myself

After doing the Spring Goal setting workshop I decided that one goal that would encompass everything I want to achieve and cause positive ripple effects across my life is believing in myself. I have been thinking a lot recently about that Henry Ford quote ‘Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.’ I’m definitely someone who thinks they can’t about everything. I am a master in doubting myself in both big and small ways.
When it comes to going about this goal/coming up with rocks I am really stuck. How do I go about believing in myself more?

Answer:

Here’s the lie your brain is telling you: That you have to believe in yourself more in order to make a goal. Picking a goal and working towards it, making mistakes, showing up for yourself and building your self confidence is what will come as you work towards a goal. If you accomplish the goal, that’s just a bonus! It’s who you are becoming in the process that’s the fun part.
So, if you didn’t have to believe you could accomplish it YET…what goal sounds really cool to you?  Make it specific. “Believing in myself” may be too vague. For example, look at Maisie’s lessons learned when wanting to ride horses, and then own one! I’m guessing you already have something in your mind you’d love to try but you don’t think you can. Do that. Make it a goal and come up with three rocks. Give yourself a short deadline to just choose. Let us know what you’re going to do in the community or here in AAC.
