Struggling with someone’s view of me Part 4

Hello Coach
Thank you for your input.
“I wonder if these intentional thoughts not feeling real (i.e. fake) is actually it just being something new for your brain to digest?” – Oh wow good idea yeah. That would explain the performative feeling.
OK for the bridge / ladder thoughts. Let’s do it.
Starting thoughts:
-But i don’t understand… Why, how come?
-What if this happens or that?
-What can I do to change their mind?
Ladder thoughts:
-I can spend my energy and time on other things than trying to understand
-There are people who like me and see me as I see me
-So what if this or that?
-What is the best that could happen?
-It’s not my responsibility to change their mind
Final thoughts:
-I don’t need to understand
-I’ll deal with anything that happens as it comes.
-I am me. This is me. I like me.
What do you think coach?
The ladder thoughts were hard to do
Thanks

Answer:

They can be so hard to create sometimes, can’t they – but YOU DID IT! We’re celebrating you so much. Wonderful work!
These look fabulous, but the more important question is what do you think about them? Just for fun…do you have a favorite? Which one and why!?
Lastly, how can you start to call on these ladder thoughts when you need them most? Consider the road your brain goes down on autopilot, and identify some exit opportunities or some places you could metaphorically put a billboard with a reminder that you have other stories you can listen to.
