Hi, I would like to receive some coaching on my goals and rocks. After the Summer Loving Workshop, my 1-year goal is to have launched a coaching business. My summer-goal is, however, to first finish my thesis and graduate my master’s degree. This is important because it is the last thing I have/want to do before I can focus on getting Coaching training and starting a business.
My 3 rocks are:
– make a schedule
– finish my thesis
– plan time for self-care and vacation
I am struggling with perfectionism, so that is why the rocks are to make a schedule (so that I will not stress about having enough time) and to plan time for self-care and vacation to balance the stress of trying to finish my thesis. However, the rocks honestly feel more like a to do-list. Or am I thinking about this all wrong and should my goal be ‘to reduce perfectionism’? Because my perfectionism (and bad time-management/procrastination because of it) is really what stands in the way of me finishing my thesis (whilst taking good care of my mind and myself) and obtaining my degree.
Thanks so much.

This is a great question. The short term goal of obtaining your master’s degree is wonderful. I wonder how you’d like to feel when you complete this goal? What do you want to know about yourself and your process along the way? When you consider this option, what comes up for you? How do your rocks change? Let us know what you discover in a follow up submission entitled, “Summer Goals and Rocks pt. 2”.
