Taking Public Transit part 2

I’m writing to share some (well-timed) evidence that I can handle public transit. The coach’s response to my ATC question encouraged me to trust that I can handle situations on transit by leaning into my lower brain’s survival instinct.
Today on my commute home, someone jumped onto the subway tracks as the train entered the station. I didn’t see it, but someone was yelling about it. So I told myself, ‘I can handle this’ and I walked upstairs immediately before the crowd got more intense. I turned off the audio book I was listening to. I proved to myself that I can handle it. I got on a different route. I am safe.
I have imagined this terrible thing happening, and now I know that I can act quickly. I did not freeze. I acted wisely and quickly. I feel sad because someone probably died today directly in front of me, but I did not die because I know how to keep myself safe.

Answer:

Although this sounds like something that would be difficult to witness, you clearly showed yourself how capable you are of being aware in situations that necessitate acute levels of self-awareness. Likewise, the fact that you know exactly how you got to that point, and documented it at least in this space is so important for recall in the future. Is there a place that you can write this down so you can reflect on it in the future? Lastly, how will you celebrate yourself and this win? We love a celebration!
